[ADAM goes down to the door of the stable]

Mary [meeting him and genuflecting]:
“Bless me, father: see how to-morrow is also now”

Adam [Making the sign of the Cross]:
Under the Protection!
Peace to you, and to all; good will to men

[They go into the stable]
